Meet Nancy!

Nancy Drees is the CEO and Founder of Vacaré Group.

She brought the company to life twelve years ago, and has curated the culture and environment from the ground up, overseeing all hires. Her vision has manifested into a proven success, which has been recognized by professionals in the region…She was awarded the 2016 SmartCEO Brava Award. Now, Vacaré Group is a leading recruiting and consulting company topping LinkedIn’s annual Recruiting List.

Born and raised in the Greater-Boston area, Nancy has built expertise and credibility in the hiring business. She began her work with a large staffing agency and found inspiration working with start-up tech companies. As a result of her years networking and developing Vacaré Group, she has gone on to establish herself as one of Boston’s top CEOs.

In addition to being an expert in talent acquisition, Nancy adds, “I am generally the Point of Contact for special projects from our clients. If a client is looking to have help with their employment branding on their website or social media, I will consult with them on those projects.” She conducts training on interviewing techniques for their team as well. On the client side, Nancy is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction at an oversight level along with the Vacaré client managers. She and the Vacaré Group team dedicate ample time “setting them up to succeed with the appropriate tools.”

Nancy feels passionate about the pricing model at Vacaré, as it’s what sets the company apart from other recruiting business models. – Vacaré uses a more cost-effective method compared to contingency agencies. “We work with a lot of start-ups that are at different stages of their funding, and we’re helping them scale and grow to become profitable, so we want to work within their budget. That’s where the pricing comes in.”

Vacaré Group has a true consulting model, developed according to Nancy’s people-first vision – “We only charge for the hours that go into a search.” Above all, she is passionate about best practices in recruiting, and being a thought leader in the field. She believes strongly that “what works for one client may not work for others.” She says, “we need to be flexible and creative”. Therefore, Vacaré Group is dedicated to working effectively within different client cultures, and routinely taking each client’s unique needs into consideration.

Outside of the office, Nancy spends time with her two small dogs, Lanie and Snoogles, who enjoy watching reality shows almost as much as Nancy does! She loves to cook and entertain company, is a great tap dancer, and her favorite place is the beach.
