At Pepperlane, we’re building a platform to help moms launch and grow successful service businesses.
We provide a supportive community, online and in-person events, and step-by-step training to help moms build independent businesses that fit their lives, and help them get their businesses online via our marketplace.
Our vision is to offer a complete platform to run a successful micro-business: step-by-step guides to getting started in high-demand industries, simple, automatic lead management, and tools that provide personalized recommendations about where and how members can market their businesses to their network, Pepperlane’s audience and beyond.
TEAM
We’re a small team of tech industry veterans from high-growth companies with high valuations and/or successful exits to IPO or acquisition. Most of us are also parents, and all of us have lives and interests outside of work. (Read more about our team and how we got started.)

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for an experienced front-end developer to help us move to a single-page application. This is a great opportunity to join a well-funded early stage startup, and a difference and grow with the company.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design and implement capabilities in the application to deliver our product roadmap
- Work with our UX Designer to bring their product vision to life
- Deliver clean, well-tested, and efficient user experience
- Help establish industry best practices such as continuous integration, unit testing, code reviews via pull requests, improving code security, etc.
- Help define the requirements of our platform API to support both web and mobile clients
- Ensure that product usage is tracked and features can be A/B tested so that we can learn quickly and iterate
- Help evaluate new technologies, such as Vue Native, to help shape our future technology direction
- Support all aspects of the Pepperlane Information Security Policy and associated procedures
- Lead and mentor junior developers
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 5 years professional software development experience
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
- Deep understanding of web application architecture, single-page applications, and software development best practices
- Demonstrated mastery in at least one JavaScript frameworks
- Communicate ideas clearly, and write intelligently
- Willing to work onsite at our Cambridge, MA office as needed (likely 3 days per week) (Only local candidates will be considered for this position)
